Mount Gravatt East State School caters for
students from Prep to Year 6. Our
primary focus is the development of Literacy and Numeracy, whilst
attaining key learning area outcomes within
and across all key learning areas.
All teachers use the ACARA (Australian Curriculum
and Reporting Authority) Programs and develop plans showing coverage of key learning area outcomes, with adjustments.
All students are taught the following key
learning areas of English, Mathematics, HASS (Years 3 to 6), Science, The Arts, Technology, Health and Physical
Education, Economics and Business (Years 5 and 6) and LOTE - Japanese (Years 5
to -6).
In addition to lessons within their classes,
specialist teachers conduct Music, Physical Education, LOTE - Japanese and
Library lessons. Lay Catechists conduct
a non-denominational religious education program. The school also has access to the services
provided by a Speech Therapist, a Guidance Officer and an English as a Second
Language teacher. A Support Teacher
Literacy and Numeracy and a Special Education Teacher provide additional
support.
