Our School’s new Library is a great facility, it was opened in 2010. We have over 32000 items in the collection ranging from picture books, novels and information books available for students and teachers to borrow. We are also fortunate to have a wonderful continually growing collection of readers.
All students are encouraged to borrow regularly, at least once a week. Students in Prep to Year 2 can borrow one book and students Years 3 to 6 can borrow two.  We also have a collection of mature age books especially for Year 6 students.
The Library is open every lunch time and students can play games, do puzzles, use computers, read and colour or draw.
At the beginning of each school year, students in Years 5 and 6 can nominate to become Library Monitors where they take on the responsibility of supervising at lunch times, shelving, keeping the library neat and tidy and helping out during special events.
Every year the Library holds a Bookfair, where students can purchase books directly at school, celebrates Bookweek with a range of activities and runs a book club which provides students with the opportunity to purchase books from a specially tailored catalogue.

Information Station

Our Information Station provides a friendly supportive environment for our students.  It provides access for all classes to a bank of computers, an interactive whiteboard and a broad range of other resources.  Each class is scheduled for a regular weekly library session for borrowing, library/information, computer skills lessons and/or literacy enrichment.

Library Bags

It is school policy that all students borrowing from the school library must have a library bag in which to carry books.  Please ensure your child has one and that it is clearly labelled with their full name. These can be purchased from our uniform shop for $7.50.

Library Borrowing

All books must be returned on time and in an appropriate condition.  If a book becomes overdue, all borrowing rights are suspended until the book is returned. Parents will be asked to pay the replacement cost of lost or damaged books.  A library bag must protect all books.

Lunchtime Use

The library is open to students at second break lunchtimes for borrowing, board games, computer use, videos, construction activities and dramatic play.  Computer programs available for lunchtime use include a range of problem solving, language, mathematics and science games.  Preference is given to students using computers for school related tasks.
